CHILDREN AT PLAY SIGNS

Background

Council has been requested on several occasions to erect signs on the Municipal road right-of-way, indicating that there are children playing in the area.

Most roads in the Township of Conmee have children of various ages living on them.

Council feels that children should not be playing on, in, or near dangerous areas such as the road right-of-way and Council does not feel that it would be in the resident's best interests to erect signs warning of things such as "children at play" on every road within the Township.

Policy

It shall be the policy of the Council for the Township of Conmee that signs shall not be erected warning of such things as children, adults or animals on the Township road right-of-way, unless Council establishes a special area, such as a park, which is designed for children, adults or animals, and which may cause the movement of children, adults or animals in the area.
