Mr. Malinoski advised the department has been scarifying and sanding the roads. They have been keeping the Maxwell Rd North open as people are using it, if we should receive a heavy snowfall and are unable to keep it safely maintained then it will be closed. They are continuing to work on the fence rails for the cemetery. Culverts are backing up in several areas and are being steamed. Several attempts have been made to contact AAA Garage Door Service to complete the installation of the door openers. They have failed to return phone calls and fax messages have been ignored.
6.2 Fire Chief's Report - filed
The department is planning another Chinese Auction to be held on April 21st. They will also be hosting the Paul Goulet competition at the Kakabeka Falls Legion on Saturday, June 2, 2007. Moved by Councillor Young

THAT the Reeve and Clerk be authorized on behalf of the Township of Conmee to affix their signatures to by-law No. 907, being a by-law to appoint a building official. CARRIED.
Ms. Maki had presented a Membership Renewal invoice from the Ontario Building Officials Association in the amount of $100.00 requesting payment be made on her behalf. Upon review of her contract, Council felt that the cost of the membership renewal fee for her to belong to a professional organization for building inspectors should not be paid by Council.
Council has expressed concern over reports that buildings have been issued a permit for the purpose of a shed and it is reported that the shed may be inhabited as a residence. In other cases buildings and/or trailers have been set up on properties without the proper building permits or inspections. These buildings could pose a fire hazard if they are not properly inspected. Council is also concerned for the safety of the occupants of these premises should an emergency occur and no fire number has been assigned. Council requests that the Fire Department inspect these buildings.
