The Conmee Public Library will be hosting a free adult-supervised March Break Program for children 12 and under this year. The program will run from 10:00am until 2:00pm each day from March 12 – 16th, 2012. The program will include: story time, crafts, reading, games, exercise and scavenger hunts. Each day will be a different theme to keep the children interested and involved. Remember to bring a healthy snack! For more information on the program please stop by the Library.

Conmee Emergency Services is reminding property owners in Conmee Township that burning permits are required for all fires, except those for cooking or warmth, from April 1st to October 31st on property in Conmee Township. We have provided a link to the MNR Forest Fire Information for fires outside of Conmee Township boundaries.

Events
Conmee's 100th Birthday
The Township of Conmee will be celebrating our 100th anniversary in 2013. Council would like to set up a volunteer Committee to plan some special events and activities. Anyone who is interested in serving on this Committee is asked to send a letter of interest to the Township office. Come help the Township celebrate this milestone achievement!

Why not join the library board?
Participation includes one meeting per month and one Wednesday evening per month from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. of volunteering to man the library - some computer skill is required. Training on the program will be given.

Photo Contest
Start taking pictures now!
We invite you to participate in the first Conmee Township Photo Contest! All pictures need to be taken in Conmee Township and show what you like about living or playing here.
Maybe you have made a unforgettable fishing trip, have discovered the beauty of some truly remote places within the township, or have encountered some very interesting wild life. Just to name a few suggestions. Please submit all pictures in digital format and mention in your e-mail your name and contact information, the location where the photo was taken and the story behind the photo (if there is any). Also, please mention who took the photo and if the photographer allows us to use it on this website.
We are especially interested in photos in landscape (horizontal) format, that we can cut so it can be featured in the slide show on the website.

Official Notices
From the Highway Committee
Council and the Highway Committee have continued to work to ensure that the new four lane, divided, limited access highway project has the least affect on the Township as possible.
Council would like to inform the residents of the Township of Conmee that MTO will be doing resurfacing work on Highway 11/17 this summer. This work is not related to the proposed 4-lane highway. No decision has been made on the final route at this time. Council will notify residents as soon as we receive more information.

Copies of the Township of Conmee Financial Statements are available now. Ratepayers may request a copy free of charge. To save paper, we do not make copies until requested. Please call ahead to ensure a copy will be ready for you. Call 475-5229
