RURAL FOOD CUPBOARD NEWSThe 10th AGM was held at the food bank, with reports from all committees presented. Statistics provided some lively discussion pertaining to the 41.5 percent overall increase from last May of hampers provided. The costs of providing food for these hampers has almost doubled, and after reviewing costs it was determined that monies are carefully and wisely spent. Elections were held with Mark Halabecki as Chair and Kevin Halabecki as Vice-chair to 2013. Gladys Grant was presented with an orchid plant as appreciation for her dedication and leadership over the past ten years. The food bank is bursting at the seams and along with the number of stairs to access, tentative discussion to relocate if and where possible is being considered. Several suggestions will be looked at and followed up on if merited. There are three ladies who have taken over the responsibility for sorting and cleaning up after the free clothing on food bank day. Great Job Ladies.
