Fire Chief Robb Day leads a committed team of volunteers bringing timely and trained emergency response services to our residents.
Conmee Emergency Services is in the township to deliver the first necessary basic assistance to anyone who calls 911. The service consists of trained volunteers who carry pagers.
In case of any medical calls, Emergency First Responders will offer important basic medical care before the ambulance arrives. After the ambulance arrives, assistance is provided to make sure the patient is quickly transported to the hospital.
In case of a fire, firefighters will do everything to extinguish the fire as quickly as possible.
Volunteers Needed
Conmee Emergency Services is currently accepting applications for the positions of Firefighter or Emergency First Responder.
The primary responsibility of the position includes structural and wildland fire fighting, auto extrication, emergency response, and assisting with prevention and public education initiatives.
All training and equipment is provided. An honorarium based on attendance at scenes, training and outside courses is provided. The Ontario Fire Curriculum is the standard for training. Ontario Fire College Courses are offered. There is the opportunity for you to receive your D-Z Driver's Licence.
Applicants must meet the following minimum criteria:
- minimum 17 years of age
- good physical condition
- ability to attend a minimum of 50% of calls and training
- have the initiative to follow the chain of command
